Using Ranking Charts

Project Portfolio Ranking charts are a type of X-Y chart that is used to rank projects based on two or three sets of data.

The Y-axis represents the attribute used for ranking the projects. This can be by the SMART Value score or other attribute score. The X-axis displays the project rankings in incremental numerical order. The optional bubble size value represents an additional data set that can be overlaid onto the project ranking data.

You can also display "Uncertainty Bars" in Ranking Charts, which is a powerful way to illustrate and compare uncertainty ranges in project attributes.

Ranking charts are highly customized by using the Ranking Chart Preference forms.

Ranking charts are extremely useful as visual representations of portfolios. Ranking charts provide a fast way to compare your projects.

See Creating Ranking Charts, Ranking Chart Display, and Ranking Chart Preferences for more information about these topics.
