The Optsee® Plus Optimization Results Form
Form Overview
This form displays the results from a Portfolio optimization using Optsee® Plus. The results associated with a particular optimization result are displayed in this form when it is opened from the Portfolio Form. The Optimization Results form displays the name of the optimized parameter ("Total Value Score" or other maximized attribute). It also displays the set and actual results obtained for each constrained attribute for the optimized portfolio. Finally, the form displays the elapsed time required to run the optimization.
In addition to the [Close] buttons, there is also a [Open Optimization] button that allows you to directly open the Optimizer form automatically loaded with the last parameter set. This allows you to repeat an optimization using the same or slightly modified parameters without having to re-enter all of the parameters.
Note: Only one optimization is saved with each portfolio and running a new optimization over-writes the previous optimization. If you want to compare different optimization parameters on the same portfolio, you can save the optimization in a Portfolio View or use the “Duplicate” button on the Portfolio List form to create a duplicate portfolio that you can then optimize and use for comparison.
The optimizations are set-up in the Optsee® Plus Optimization form.
Optimization Result:
Results field: This display-only field shows the value of the optimized attribute in the optimized portfolio.
Optimization Attribute field: This display-only field shows the name of the attribute that the portfolio was optimized to maximize.
Efficient Frontier Denominator field: This display-only field shows the name of the attribute that was selected as the denominator attribute for an Efficient Frontier optimization. This field is disabled if it was not an efficient frontier optimization.
Efficient Frontier Ratio field: This display-only field shows the ratio between the sums of the numerator attribute and the denominator attribute for an Efficient Frontier optimization.
No. of Constraints field: This display-only field shows the number of constraints used.
Optimization Time field: This display-only field elapsed time for the optimization.
Warning Text: If the optimization was stopped and saved before it was completed, the following message is displayed:
Constraint Results:
Constrained Attribute column: This displays the names of the constrained attributes.
Constraint Type column: This column displays the type of constraint used for the corresponding attribute. There are 4 types of constraints:
- Not greater: Final sum-total value in the optimized portfolio will not be greater than constrained value
- Not less: Final sum-total value in the optimized portfolio will not be less than the constrained value (the optimizer is designed to maximize above this value, not get close to it)
- Mean not greater: Final mean (average) of the sum total of all the values for that attribute (Sum total/Number of Projects) in the optimized portfolio will not be greater than constrained value.
- Mean not less: Final mean (average) of the sum total of all the values for that attribute (Sum total/Number of Projects) in the optimized portfolio will not be less than the constrained value.
Set Values column: This column displays the constraint limitation values that the user set to constrain the corresponding attributes.
Actual Values column: This column displays the actual results obtained in the optimization based on the set corresponding attribute constraints.
